My friend Ben writes about The Conversation, and wiretapping as a cinematic motif, in Slate today.
I've seen The Conversation a couple times, once in CinemaScope and once again after I bought my first DVD player.
It's such a tight work, and so... film. 1970s San Francisco shot with telephoto lenses, and all of that analog audio gear, and Harrison Ford as the personal assistant of Dr. Evil... good stuff. Makes me want to run out and buy the DVD.20060309_dafd.jpg (800 x 450) (36KB)
